In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale A man named Farmer sets out to rescue his kidnapped wife and avenge the death of his son -- two acts committed by the Krugs, a race of animal-warriors who are controlled by the evil Gallian.
star studded cast for a pretty cheeeeesy movie.. sorry, cheezy is too good a word.. this was crap.. cuts and editing was all wrong.. they spent so much money for crap..
i slept through the second half, dunno how i stood the 1st half
Behind Enemy Lines II: Axis of Evil Navy SEALS, headed by Lt. Bobby James, are dispatched to North Korea on a covert mission, all in an effort to take out a missile site.
hmm.. straight to dvd movie.. so dont expect much.. very stylized cz that's all you can afford, effects, you can't really get big action stars..
so-so but what i really like is that is based on a true story.. its pro america, meaning the US saves the day butstill wow that they showed actual clips in the end
Definitely, Maybe Three relationships. Three disasters. One last chance Will Hayes (Ryan Reynolds) has just received divorce papers from his wife to sign at his advertising office in New York City. He picks up his 11-year-old daughter, Maya (Abigail Breslin) at school where she has just been taught sex education. Will can't take these new sex questions that Maya is asking him. So when she asks him to tell the story about how he met her mother, and how they really fell in love, Will thought this would be easier to explain to her. Will decides to tell Maya a bedtime story in the form of a puzzle with the names changed so she must figure out which of the three loves of his life became his wife and her mother. His story begins in 1992 when Will moves to New York City from Madison, Wisconsin, to work on the Clinton presidential campaign. He must leave behind his first love Emily (Elizabeth Banks) who is his college sweetheart. In New York, he meets his second love, April (Isla Fisher) at the campaign office. His third love is Summer (Rachel Weisz) a journalist who writes for the 'New Yorker' magazine. Maya begins to understand that love is not so simple, but she is able to put all the pieces of his three love stories together and solves the puzzle.
ahh to be in new york and in love. this is a movie for romantics.. though romantic comedies are shallow at heart, like boy meets girl, they fall in love, they fall out of love then fall in love again.. this movie is 3 times any romantic comedy out there.. haha
Ryan Reynolds is in his usual signature boyish style and is pretty solid as lead the 3 girls are lovely Elizabeth Banks was like an angel Rachel Weisz is my English crush Isla Fisher is really up and coming.. and Abigail Breslin is the sweetest lil thing..
though not really a deep movie, it's not for the brain dead either.. i like the mystery aspect of the movie..
Abandon Watch who you leave behind. A senior at an elite college, already under severe pressure to complete her thesis and land a prestigious job, must confront the sudden reappearance of her old boyfriend, after his two year, unexplained absence...
i didn't hear about this a few years ago. I just caught it on HBO the other day..
it's pretty a cool college thriller trippy movie.. Katie Holmes plays Katie hahaha benjamin bratt is the cop with alcohol prblems trying to start a new life by taking a suppsed open shut case.. Zooey Deschanel is just wow.. shes great as a support.. cant wait till 500days
its dark, thrilling, smart.. it has the likes of the rules of attraction, black christmas, dead man on campus, go, dead man's curve
interesting.. or maybe cz i was bored at home with nothing else to do.. but the first half of the movie, i was just mesmerized by their portrayal of college life.. well its really different from my college life.. their priorities, their values, how they party... anyways.....
Dialogue is quick and intellectual.. perfectly done by the characters.. setting is an old creepy college photography/editing.. pretty solid
SPOILERS ahead then when the thriller part of the plot was coming through, i was kinda confused at first. Is she just crazy? Is the boyfriend really back?.. uhuh.. i knew it.. shes crazy.. haay predictable..
verdict? ow wel.. i had nothing else to do, so i watched it.. its entertaining believe me, but i just wasnt into it that day.. kinda predictable.. just watch it for zooey! hahaha
Bolt A hero is unleashed 2008 The canine star of a fictional sci-fi/action show that believes his powers are real embarks on a cross country trek to save his co-star from a threat he believes is just as real.
hmmm.. ima sucker for family/kids movies.. especially if theyre good.. and this one was good.. It's a Disney animated film.. there's still some nuances differentiating it from Pixar but at least it aint Dreamworks...
cool story, cool voice acting.. cute animations.. predictable but it had heart..
Movie 40 Late march Glorietta with Mico, Candy and Manila
12 Rounds Detective Danny Fisher discovers his girlfriend has been kidnapped by a ex-con tied to Baxter's past, and he'll have to successfully complete 12 challenges in order to secure her safe release.
Wow.. This was a pretty solid action flick.. Better than any other WWE film out there.. well that's just me.. (WWE films include: The Scorpion King with The Rock, The Rundown The Rock again, Walking Tall yet again The Rock, See No Evil with Kane, The Marine - John Cena, The Condemned with Stone Cold Steve Austin)
Predictable from the start, I mean I knew what was Mostly going to happen, but there was still some pretty cool actions scenes and tricks up its sleeve. Even though blatantly copying Die Hard 3 and with similar scenes taken from Speed, its still fresh and the action is REAL... noCGI in sight...
John Cena does a great job keeping pace and flow, with his acting just at an OK.. the other characters were fine, but the antagonist was hella tight!
story was at first kinda "okay fine, this again" but then it became kinda fishy with a sweet twist for the climax..
A teacher opens a time capsule that has been dug up at his son's elementary school; in it are some chilling predictions -- some that have already occurred and others that are about to -- that lead him to believe his family plays a role in the events that are about to unfold.
wow.. gripping and captivating.. i just can't keep my eye off nick cage's receding hair line... hahaha
joke.. hmm.. what can i say.. just looking at the poster and watching the trailer, i knew something was up.. i've this hunch before and all i can say is "I knew it, I knew it!" how fitting to the film's name.. hahaha
anyways.. the number 23 creepy, with Contact like philosophy, with indianajones/the forgotten/AI ending...
thrilling and cool the first 2/3 of the movie... questions of God and life and the meaning of it all in the middle, then the ending pretty much takes it all down..
nick cage does pretty well and really hold his ground.. Rose Byrne is soo pretty.. loved her in wicker park but this role for her is just a little funky.. she was fine but there is something off.. kids were okay..
scary people were scary...
anyways, its a #1 film in the states now.. watch it to see what's it all about.. it's a good film but I was disappointed in the end...
Outlander It destroyed his world. He won't let it destroy ours.
During the reign of the Vikings, Kainan, a man from a far-off world, crash lands on Earth, bringing with him an alien predator known as the Moorwen. Though both man and monster are seeking revenge for violence committed against them, Kainan leads the alliance to kill the Moorwen by fusing his advanced technology with the Viking's Iron Age weaponry
Starring Jesus, Jim Caviezel, this is a viking film with the Outlander, (meaning a guy from space..)
I was thinking it would be like pathfinder after watching that film late last year, but this movie really surprised me. Its 13th warrior mixed with beowulf. There are some apparent cop-outs like how he learned how to speak by using his computer and how the bad guy is defeated...
anyways.. This is not just any icelandic, all forest and snow movie.. there's action, comedy and best of all fire monsters that kill kill kill...
okay now it's sounding like a bmovie.. i dunno what it is.. it's either a really rocking B flick or a poorly executed blockbuster hit..
the effects are pretty awesome and since kainan is from another planet, there are flashbacks to his alien home showing spaceships and all that.. the effects were really beautiful...
storywise, its simple... acting, pretty good actually.. set and costumes were spot-on the other people were just okay but John Hurt was killing it!!! gta love him..
anyways, I liked it.. I would watch it again.. it's fun and visually filling..
Paul Blart: Mall Cop Safety never takes a holiday. When a shopping mall is overtaken by a gang of organized crooks, it's up to the a mild-mannered security guard to save the day.
hmm funny! just a holiday film for a few laughs and enjoyment.. there are scenes with parkour.. Ira watch it.. I bet you could've choreographed better..
Flash of Genius Corporations have time, money, and power on their side. All Bob Kearns had was the truth. Robert Kearns takes on the Detroit automakers who he claims stole his idea for the intermittent windshield wiper
I like these kind of stories.. it really strengthens my heart and it shows heart how people fight for what is right..
kinda dragging with the scenes with the wife but all else is very heartfelt great performance by greg kinear.. its a whole lot different from what i usually see him in
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist High school student Nick O'Leary, member of the Queercore band The Jerk Offs, meets college-bound Norah Silverberg and she asks him to be her boyfriend for five minutes.
Sweet movie.. I wanna go to new york and have a crazy night like this..
A little bit too trying hard to be indie yet feels perfectly fine.. the characters are fun and believable..
I have to read the book to really assess but it was good

Movie #31 Feb 20, 2009 DVD care of Manila.. thanks girl
Also known as Run Lola Run A young woman in Germany has twenty minutes to find and bring 100,000 Deutschmarks to her boyfriend before he robs a supermarket
hmm.. it's very euro.. i think it's for people on acid trips.. haha pretty cool shots! love the angles and the the way the shots were executed.. very technical running shots.. film makers take notes when you watch this.. music pretty cool..
story.. simple but the title says it all.. RUN LOLA!!! RUN!!!!!
National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007) Treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates looks to discover the truth behind the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, by uncovering the mystery within the 18 pages missing from assassin John Wilkes Booth's diary
just a flashy adventure.. kinda a waste of money if you paid for it.. good thing i watched it on hbo.. maybe it would look better on the big screen but like most (not all) of jerry bruckheimers work, sometimes its all just fluff
i'm forgeting stuff na nga as i write this.. nick cage as always plays himself.. Voight and Mirren were kinda flat but funny nonetheless Diane Kruger is so lovely with her crooked smile.. haha
it's not boring.. it's entertaining and all but not just as good as i would want it to be..
Doubt Set in 1964, Doubt centers on a nun who confronts a priest after suspecting him of abusing a black student. He denies the charges, and much of the play's quick-fire dialogue tackles themes of religion, morality, and authority
Wow.. a very intense movie! Based on a play, directed by the screenwriter himself.. I can see why it was nominated.. Love the performances of all the actors..
Meryl Streep as Sister Aloysius Beauvier - She's the bomb! Philip Seymour Hoffman as Father Brendan Flynn.. He's getting really good roles nowadays Amy Adams as Sister James.. so innocent, so naive.. perfect portrayal Viola Davis as Mrs. Miller.. she was nominated for best sup actress while shes only has 2 scenes, and in th second scene, she doesn't even speak a word..
setting/costumes were great.. very new york / boston and very sixties.. I understand now how catholic new yorkers were brought up during that time..
angles and cinematography/editing really complemented the story and setting
now the story.. you've got to watch it.. a very simple story in a very important time.. sexual allegations against a priest in the 60s in a very catholic neighborhood and the suspected victim is a supposedly gay african american.. you have to focus to follow the story.. then the cool part is that once you feel you know whats going on, each side gives its arguments and you yourself feel doubt on your assumptions..
the movie ends not really saying what happened and leaves you to believe what you want or doubt your initial beliefs..
ather Brendan Flynn: Doubt can be a bond as powerful and sustaining as certainty. When you are lost, you are not alone. Father Brendan Flynn: A woman was gossiping with her friend about a man whom they hardly knew - I know none of you have ever done this. That night, she had a dream: a great hand appeared over her and pointed down on her. She was immediately seized with an overwhelming sense of guilt. The next day she went to confession. She got the old parish priest, Father O' Rourke, and she told him the whole thing. 'Is gossiping a sin?' she asked the old man. 'Was that God All Mighty's hand pointing down at me? Should I ask for your absolution? Father, have I done something wrong?' 'Yes,' Father O' Rourke answered her. 'Yes, you ignorant, badly-brought-up female. You have blamed false witness on your neighbor. You played fast and loose with his reputation, and you should be heartily ashamed.' So, the woman said she was sorry, and asked for forgiveness. 'Not so fast,' says O' Rourke. 'I want you to go home, take a pillow upon your roof, cut it open with a knife, and return here to me.' So, the woman went home: took a pillow off her bed, a knife from the drawer, went up the fire escape to her roof, and stabbed the pillow. Then she went back to the old parish priest as instructed. 'Did you cut the pillow with a knife?' he says. 'Yes, Father.' 'And what were the results?' 'Feathers,' she said. 'Feathers?' he repeated. 'Feathers; everywhere, Father.' 'Now I want you to go back and gather up every last feather that flew out onto the wind,' 'Well,' she said, 'it can't be done. I don't know where they went. The wind took them all over.' 'And that,' said Father O' Rourke, 'is gossip!'
Harold A teenager with an early onset of male-pattern baldness befriends his high school's janitor.
haha funny movie.. just a school comedy with an absurd plot.. balding kid moves to a new town, has a crush on the popular girl, has encounters with the school bully, befriends the token black guy, which is a janitor in this case..
Cuba Gooding, Jr.. why o why.. he keeps getting these bad roles! ie, boat trip, daddy day camp, norbit... haay..
Spencer Breslin did well..hope he doesn't become a washed up childhood actor as time goes on..
Ally Sheedy from breakfast club was the mom.. hehe a few wrinkles, but still looks good..
Stella Maeve plays the sister and she's sooo annoying..
movie was okay.. a different kind of movie/culture compared to the gossip girl of today.. nice alternative but still not that noteworthy.. watch it when they show it on tv on a lazy afternoon
The Wrestler Love. Pain. Glory. This is a drama about an aging professional wrestler, decades past his prime, who now barely gets by working small wrestling shows in VFW halls and as a part-time grocery store employee. As he faces health problems that may end his wrestling career for good he attempts to come to terms with his life outside the ring: by working full time at the grocery store, trying to reconcile with the daughter he abandoned in childhood and forming a closer bond with a stripper he has romantic feelings for. He struggles with his new life and an offer of a high-profile rematch with his 1980s arch-nemesis, The Ayatollah, which may be his ticket back to stardom.
wow.. Growing up watching WWF, I can't help but feel for this guy.. (whata performance by mickey rourke..) I've watched a many documentaries about wrestling, and this was no different, stories of these great men really pull at my heart..
Wrestlers, for me and I assume for many, are heroes.. theyre there to take on the bad guy, show their strength, and always fight till there ain't no fight in them left.. so once these guys grow old and become beaten down pieces of meat, it's just sad..
The music was great, 80s rock is just fun.. cinematography, acting, and everything else made the story so much better..
I love the scene where The Ram is in the bathroom getting ready for his first day as a deli clerk at the grocery.. they follow him from the bathroom sink, down the stairs, through the halls up until the final curtain.. just like the shots they do in wrestling shows..
My Cousin Vinny star, Marisa Tomei also does a great job.. she's getting old narin..
